“Charlie, if you are reading this, then either I finally found the courage to send it, or you found where I hid the copy. I am not angry with you for helping me leave. That is the best thing anyone in our family ever did for me.”
He paused and swallowed.
“I am angry that I need your help again.”
Rain streamed against the windows.
Wesley continued.
“Daniel is gone. Not dead. Gone. He left after things became too difficult, and I cannot pretend I was surprised. We were young, and love was real, but real does not always mean strong enough. I have a daughter now. Her name is Lila. She is six months old. She has my stubborn chin and your serious eyes, which seems unfair because you are not even here to help with night feedings.”
A startled sound came from Charles.
Margaret gripped the doorframe.
Wesley looked up.
WHY THE ABRUPT ENDINGS??? LIKE NO ENDING AT ALL!!!!
