I still live across the street from Arthur's old house. New owners moved in a few months back, a young couple with a toddler and a dog that barks at everything that moves. They keep the lawn up themselves, mostly, though I noticed last Saturday that the grass had gotten a little tall, the porch chair — a different one now, blue instead of faded green — sitting empty in the afternoon light.
I almost mentioned it to Jonah on our call that evening. Then I decided against it.
