Her social media following has become smaller.
But she seems happier.
“These people actually want to see bread,” she joked one evening. “It’s surprisingly peaceful.”
Every other Friday, Camille and Hannah come to my apartment for dinner.
Camille brings
fresh bread.
I cook something simple.
Hannah usually sits at my kitchen table doing her homework.
Sometimes she asks me questions about logistics, shipping schedules, or warehouse operations.
Nobody in my family had ever shown much interest in my career before.
But Hannah listens as though I’m explaining the most fascinating job in the world.
Last month, she surprised me.
“Aunt Liv, I think I want to do what you do.”
I laughed.
“You want to schedule trucks?”
She smiled.
“No. I want to be the person who makes everything work.”
Then she added something that made my eyes sting.
“Like you. Except I want people to know I’m the one doing it.”
