The Chicago Bears’ Week 2 game against the Minnesota Vikings ended with a result nobody in Chicago wanted to see. Caleb Williams was forced out of the game with a right hamstring injury, chafar leaving Bears fans searching for the latest Caleb Williams injury update.

Williams was injured during the fourth quarter of the Vikings vs. Bears matchup at Soldier Field. The Bears eventually lost 9-3, but the bigger concern was the condition of their starting quarterback.

Williams suffered the injury while scrambling toward the Vikings’ end zone with Chicago trailing 6-3. He went down without being hit, grabbed his right leg and immediately appeared to be in pain.

Medical staff helped Williams to the sideline before he was carted to the locker room.

The Bears later confirmed the injury as a right hamstring injury.

Head coach Ben Johnson said after the Bears game that he was relieved the problem was not with Williams’ knee, but acknowledged that a hamstring injury could still be significant.

Johnson also said Williams was in good spirits after the game.

The latest reports said Williams was scheduled to undergo imaging/MRI on Monday to determine the severity. As of the latest confirmed information, there is no official return timeline from the Chicago Bears.

There is, however, some optimism.

NBC Sports reported that there was hope inside the Bears organization that the injury could be a Grade 1 hamstring strain, which would generally be less severe than a major tear. But that possibility should not be treated as a confirmed diagnosis until the medical evaluation is complete.

Williams was also reportedly seen walking under his own power in the locker room after the game.
