The Ministry of the Interior has unveiled a new test service, Thésée48, which should prevent victims from having to go to the chafar police station or gendarmerie.
Digital scams have become a scourge for many French people. On March 7, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, revealed that from March 15, a dedicated platform would be launched. This has now been done. Thésée, for Harmonized Processing of Investigations and Reports for E-scams, has as its main purpose the fight against cybercrime and to allow victims to “file a complaint without having to go to a police station or a gendarmerie brigade”, explains the ministry on its website.
Already in the experimental phase since last October, this service concerns several types of scams, such as hacking of electronic and instant messaging, online blackmail, ransomware, romance scams or fraud related to sales sites. The platform will be able to count on a dedicated team of 17 police officers and gendarmes assigned to the Central Office for the Fight against Crime Related to Information and Communication Technologies (OCLCTIC).

How do I file a complaint? According to Numerama, all you have to do is go to the Service-Public.fr website. By conducting a search on the site, such as by typing “scam” in the search bar, the user will be able to see whether or not his case is likely to be taken into account. According to our colleagues, it will then remain to identify oneself securely via the FranceConnect portal. There will then be 30 days left to finalize the complaint. Otherwise, it will be cancelled.
