COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — Three people were arrested for the abuse of two infants under the age of one, authorities said.
Deputies were dispatched to a Columbia hospital on January 31 after medical staff reported signs of physical abuse on the infants.
The parents, Amos R. Mobley Jr., 24, and Daija Benjamin, 23, were later joined as suspects by the infants’ paternal grandmother, 62-year-old Anita Hingleton-Mobley, a former Richland One employee.
Each person faces two counts of inflicting great bodily injury upon a child, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
