🟦 SLIDE 6 | Does It Need Surgery?
Not always!
Treatment depends on the symptoms and how much the cyst affects your hand or wrist.
👀 No symptoms:
Observation and monitoring may be all that is needed.
🩹 Mild symptoms:
Reducing wrist strain or using a brace for a limited period, if recommended by a healthcare professional, may help.
💉 Persistent symptoms:
Aspiration (draining the fluid) may be considered in certain cases.
🔪 Selected cases:
Surgical removal may be an option when symptoms persist or the cyst keeps coming back.
🟦 SLIDE 7 | When Should You See a Doctor? 🩺
See a healthcare professional if the lump:
🚩 Grows quickly
🚩 Becomes significantly painful
🚩 Causes numbness or tingling
🚩 Causes weakness in the hand
🚩 Limits wrist or finger movement
🚩 Appears after an injury
🚩 Becomes red or warm
Because not every lump on the wrist is a ganglion cyst.
