I laughed a little.
“Life is so curious.”
When the snack was over, he stood up slowly.

I almost laughed.
“You shouldn’t either.”
For a second, he smiled in a way that didn’t seem tired or lost at all.
Then he left.
I didn’t give him many laps after that.

I woke up to the sound of an idle engine nearby.
At first I thought it was just another truck passing by the bridge.
But the sound did not fade.
He stayed.
I opened the store zipper and crawled out.
And he was paralyzed.
A long black limousine was parked a few meters away.
