The delivery-room door opened.
Dr. Rowan, the hospital’s chief medical officer, stepped inside. His calm expression revealed nothing.
Daniel straightened immediately.
“Good,” he said. “You can explain to your staff that my wife is being transferred after the birth.”
Dr. Rowan did not pick up the papers.
He did not even glance at them.
Instead, he moved aside.
